Having the Parent Portal means I can check my statements at any time. The weekly system works so well with keeping on track of our care used.

I love that everything feels transparent. I know that my educator is working to a high standard because we're communicated what that should look like by the scheme.

Our children love going to (our educator), their smiles are so big as they walk to the front door and it reminds me that I'm doing okay working and balancing a family. (Our educator) gives me that peace of mind and it's priceless.

10 Child Safe Standards and The Universal Principles

Creating a child safe culture requires all individuals associated with Nurturing Family Day Care Scheme to work every day to prevent harm to all children.

“Strong leadership and clear governance lay the foundation for proactive, accountable and child-focused organisations where children are safe.”

Queensland Family and Child Commission

This is the forefront of every action of our community and done through:

  • Prioritising children’s safety and wellbeing by ensuring this is our paramount consideration when operating all aspects of Education and Care.
  • Setting clear expectations for all individuals about children’s safety and wellbeing.
  • Being positive role models and demonstrating these behaviours while at work and through all actions in the community.
  • Creating clear policies and procedures in order for individuals to identify and assess risks and concerns.
  • Always believing children voices and valuing the input of families.
  • Encouraging an environment of continuous learning and improvement through reflection.

Examples of this at Nurturing Family Day Care Scheme includes:

  • Basing every decision on the safety and wellbeing of children
  • Building and maintaining educator’s capability to identify risks or signs of harm and taking prompt action
  • Responding to complaints or concerns that are raised by reaching out to the Approved Provider
